Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How much will you pay me?

That depends on you. Our minimum wage is the CA minimum wage.  However, like the real world, we may offer excellent candidates a better wage.

How many hours can I work?

You must agree to work four full weeks during the summer (8am to 5pm).  Weeks do not have to be consecutive - you can break it up.  You may choose to work additional unfilled weeks. Weekend work will also be available.

Do I need a work permit?

If you will be under 18 after June 1, 2019 - Yes. Otherwise, no. Work permits are issued by school counselors and employees under 18 will not be allowed to clock in without a signed work permit.

What do you mean by paid training?

You will be required to attend a paid week long employee camp, where we cover everything from handling registration and payment, through teaching strategies. We teach you how to manage kids, how to teach the subject matter, how to handle unexpected events like loss of internet, etc.   We will also teach employment related skills, such as W-2, employment taxes and benefits (FICA, Medicare, IRAs, mutual funds, etc.). This is an internship. We take your education very seriously.

But I’m not a techie.  I don’t know anything about computers or robots or art or acting or games.

We’re hiring the right people, not the right skills. We are interested in you. If you pass our interview, you will be able to learn to do the programming and game development required to teach kids 8 to 12.  We guarantee it.
